Quickstart
Four steps, about five minutes. You need an assistant that accepts a remote MCP server; the Connect section lists the ones this guide covers.
-
Create an account at app.langweave.tech/sign-up. That page takes you straight to lexmem, the service that keeps your memory for langweave, and the account is created there — the page says lexmem, and that is expected (why). You will get an email with a confirmation link; you cannot sign in until you have clicked it. lexmem then asks you to allow langweave access to the account, and brings you back to the app.
-
Choose a language. After you sign in, the app asks which language you want to learn — Spanish or Japanese. This is the step that matters: until you have chosen one, every tool call is answered with a message saying so, and nothing is woven. You can add the other language later in Settings, and switch which one is woven there.
Optional: on Add words, mark the words you already know, so your assistant does not spend weeks introducing casa.
-
Connect your assistant. Add the connector with this URL:
https://api.langweave.tech/mcp- Any MCP client: paste the URL into your client’s connector settings (details)
- Claude — claude.ai or Claude Desktop: custom connector
- Claude Code:
claude mcp addor the plugin - Cursor: an entry in
mcp.json - Gemini CLI: the extension or
gemini mcp add
Your client opens lexmem’s sign-in page the first time; sign in with the account from step 1 and allow access. There is no API key.
-
Say hello. Start a new conversation and ask for something ordinary — a plan for Saturday, a recipe. Your assistant fetches your profile before it answers, and the reply carries a word or two of your language, glossed: “…pick up some pan (bread) on the way.” After the reply it logs the words it used. Open the app again and the counts on the overview have moved.
Next: what your assistant reads before it replies, and how a word becomes known.
