Settings

Settings are per language: Spanish and Japanese each have their own. Change them in the app’s Settings screen; your assistant cannot change them. A new value applies from the next profile fetch. The app shows the label; the key is the name the API uses.

The screen has two groups, because two services own them. How langweave weaves is langweave’s: how much of a reply is woven and what the profile lists. How lexmem counts is lexmem’s, which keeps your memory: the thresholds that move a word between states — and every app you connect to that memory counts with the same ones.

In the app Key Default What it changes
Max replacement max_replacement_pct 25 The most of a reply’s content words, in percent, that may be written in the target language. 0–100.
New words per response max_new_per_response 2 The most words that may be introduced for the first time in one reply.
Known words in the digest known_words_cap_in_digest 200 The most known words listed in the profile your assistant reads. At least 1.
Latin spelling (Japanese only) latin_display on Whether a latin spelling is shown beside kana: tatemono/たてもの or たてもの. on or off.

The group also shows Gloss style, which has one value, Parentheses (gloss_style: parens): a gloss is the meaning in parentheses after the word.

In the app Key Default What it changes
Glossed exposures → learning glossed_to_learning 3 Glossed sightings before a word moves from introduced to learning.
Bare exposures → known bare_to_known 8 Unglossed sightings, counted from when the word became learning, before it is known.
Quarantine after asking a meaning asked_meaning_quarantine_days 14 Days after you ask what a word means during which sightings cannot make it known.
Sightings → script unaided (Japanese only) form_bare_after 8 Sightings of a known word with its reading — 建物(たてもの) — before the reading comes off. See Kanji.

Every number is a whole number, 0 or more unless stated. What the thresholds do is on word states.

  • Which language is woven — that is your active language, switched in Settings but not part of a language’s own settings.
  • The language glosses are written in — English today, shown on the Settings screen and not editable.
